Structure/Morphology
The central sinus within the medullary cavity drains into veins that eventually pierce the endosteal layer and travel within the nutrient canal to exit the bone through the nutrient foramen as the nutrient vein.

Anatomical Relations
The veins that drain the medullary cavity follow the same course as the nutrient artery and travel within the nutrient canal to exit the bone through the nutrient foramen. However, occasionally they travel separately and exit as an emissary vein (Standring, 2016).
