The body of the clitoris is formed by the paired crura of the clitoris coming together after passing anterosuperiorly from the ischiopubic rami. The body consists of the paired corpora cavernosa, which consist of erectile tissue.

Function
During arousal, blood fills the erectile tissue within the body of the clitoris causing the clitoris to become erect.
