Description
The external organs of the female genitalia are collectively associated with the vulva. They include the opening of the vagina, clitoris, labia minora, labia majora, mons pubis, vestibule, bulb of vestibule, greater vestibular glands, and urinary meatus (Standring, 2016).
The vaginal opening is the receptive location for the male penis and ultimately, ejaculation of semen. From the vagina the sperm travel into the internal female genitalia and eventually reach the uterine tubes where fertilization occurs.
