The frenulum of the clitoris is a small fold of tissue formed by a portion of the labia minora that passes inferior to the clitoris.

The anterior portion of the merging labia minora divides into an upper layer, which forms the prepuce of the clitoris, and a lower layer which, forms the frenulum of the clitoris.
Function
The frenulum of the clitoris aids in securing the clitoris in place to prevent excessive motion.
