Dr. Casey S. McKinney is a R&D Associate Staff scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in the Nuclear Fuel Element Performance Group where she specializes in the characterization of irradiated oxide fuels utilizing advanced microscopy techniques such as FIB/SEM, EDS, and EBSD. Her work has focused on the effect that microstructure has on various performance related phenomena in both LWR UO2 and fast breeder reactor (FBR) MOX fuels. Dr. McKinney received her Ph.D. (2022) and M.S. (2019) in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Florida and a B.S. (2017) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of North Florida.
