Keynote Lecture: Environmental Enzymes and Benign by Design: on wastewater peptidases and peptide-based chemicals

Michael Zumstein is a tenure-track Assistant Professor at the Department of Environmental Geosciences, Centre for Microbiology and Environmental Systems Science, University of Vienna. He received a B.Sc. and an M.Sc. in biochemistry, and a Ph.D. in environmental chemistry, from ETH Zurich. Before moving to Vienna, Michael was a postdoctoral fellow at Cornell University and at the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology (Eawag). The research of Michael’s group focuses on the biotransformation and biodegradation of anthropogenic organic chemicals in natural and built environments.
