Keynote lecture:  Carbon dioxide reduction using TiO2 based catalysts

Professor Ir. Dr. Nor Aishah Saidina Amin is a Professor of Reaction Engineering, Head of the Chemical Reaction Engineering Group (CREG) at the Faculty of Chemical and Energy Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. She graduated with a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, USA in 1996.

Her expertise is in biofuels, CO2 reduction, applied photo and plasma-catalysis and chemical reaction engineering. She has nine patents granted and have filed 24 patents for her innovations. She has written five books, eight book chapters and more than 250 WOS indexed journal papers. She is a professional engineer and an IChemE fellow (FIChemE).

She is a Fellow and Top Research Scientist Malaysia (TRSM) conferred by the Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM), respectively, and is a recipienet of the Malaysia Research Star Award. She is a Fulbright scholar and is also a Fellow of the MIT-UTM Sustainability City program. Her other accolades include Special Jury Award at the Innovation Canada (iCAN), Leaders in Innovation Fellowship Award by the Royal Academy of Engineering, UK and Highly Cited Researcher by Clarivate. She is the subject editor in Reaction Engineering for Chemical Engineering Research and Design and an editorial board member for Energy Conversion and Management, Sustainable Chemistry for Climate Action and Energy and Fuels journals, respectively. She is the winner of the 2024 MINDS Outstanding Woman Scientist Lifetime Scientific Research Achievement Award.
