Keynote lecture: Copper makes the difference: Developing sustainable photoredox catalyzed transformations

Oliver Reiser studied chemistry at the Universities of Hamburg, Jerusalem, and Los Angeles (UCLA) and obtained his Ph.D. in 1989 with Prof. Dr. Armin de Meijere. He spent 2.5 years as a postdoctoral fellow with Dr. R. Miller, IBM Research Center, San Jose, USA, and with Prof. Dr. D. A. Evans, Harvard University, Cambridge, USA. In 1992 he moved to the University of Göttingen as an Assistant Professor, and in 1996 he moved to the University of Stuttgart as an Associate Professor. Since 1997 he has been a Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Regensburg, having served as Vice President and currently as Dean responsible for Research. His group’s research interests are focused on developing sustainable methodology for converting renewable resources towards value-added compounds.
