Penghui Cao

Penghui Cao is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of California, Irvine. Prior to that, he worked as a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Nuclear Science and Engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology after receiving PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University. His research focuses on understanding fundamental mechanisms controlling microstructure evolution and radiation reposes in materials under extreme conditions. He is the recipient of 2021 DOE Early Career Research Program award.
