Journals in Mathematics

Open archive

We recognize how important archival material is for supporting advancements in mathematics research. That is why we have opened access to all available archived articles, back to Volume 1, Issue 1 (or the first issue available) of each of the primary mathematics journals from 4 years after publication to the 1st issue, which means back to early 1960s for several titles. We are the only publisher (commercial and non-commercial) that offers free access after 4 years of publications all on pure math and CS journals.

Sponsorships

Fields Medal Symposium

The sponsorship started with the 2016 Symposium and runs for 8 years until the 2023 Symposium. Each year we award the Symposium with $25,000 CAD. The Fields symposium is associated with the Fields Medal winners. Each year every field medallist presents their work at the symposium to an audience of undergrads, grad students and professors in a way that is understandable to a large math audience.

Mathematical Sciences Sponsorship Fund (MSSF)

The Elsevier Mathematical Sciences Sponsorship Fund supports events and activities that benefit individuals and groups within the mathematical sciences.

Pricing

We have kept the math journals substantially constant in prices since 2012, with even some decreases in the math collection. Elsevier now regularly appears in the lower end of the pricing scale amongst commercial publishers.

Services

We have provided daily feeds of all newly published Elsevier mathematics articles to MathSciNet®, which means  bibliographic data is available in MathSciNet® within a week of publication. Elsevier has integrated MathJax into ScienceDirect to enable a high-quality, crisp display of mathematical symbols and equations. Elsevier's article submission process supports LaTeX, the document preparation system preferred by many mathematicians. Additionally researchers can also upload articles directly from arXiv when submitting to an Elsevier journal. The STIX Font在新的选项卡/窗口中打开 Creation project is a collaborative effort established in 1995 by Elsevier and five scientific society publishers to develop a set of computer-displayable fonts for mathematics and other special characters used in STM publishing.
