Dr. Vijay Pratap Singh received his B.Sc.(Biology) from M.J.P.Rohilkhand University, Bareilly, India. He received his M.Sc.(Botany) and D.Phil. with specialization in plant physiology and biochemistry from University of Allahabad, India. He worked as assistant professor in botany in Govt. Ramanuj Pratap Singhdev Post Graduate College, Baikunthpur, Koriya, Chhattisgarh, India from 2012 to 2018.

After this, he joined his present institution as Assistant Professor in Botany. He has authored more than 100 original research articles and has edited 10 books. He has been sanctioned three research projects from funding agencies (DBT, SERB and UGC) of government of India. He has edited special issues with journals such as Frontiers in Plant Science, Environmental and Experimental Botany, Physiologia Plantarum, Journal of Experimental Botany, etc. as a guest editor. He is serving as a regular reviewer for several journals of international repute. His research interest focuses on investigation of regulation of physiological, biochemical and molecular responses in crop plants and cyanobacteria under abiotic stresses such as heavy metal, nanoparticles, salinity, UV-B, etc. with an emphasis on reactive oxygen species, nitric oxide, hydrogen sulfide and phytohormone signaling.
