Akio Sohma is a Professor at the Graduate School of Engineering, Osaka Metropolitan University (renamed from Osaka City Univ.), and the Chief Director of the Center for Urban Socio-Ecological Systems (CUES). With expertise in coastal and mathematical ecology, his research focuses on constructing ecological and social systems that harmonize aquatic environments, industrial economies, and cultural lifestyles.
