Cultivating research powerhouses: a strategic approach to talent recruitment
In today's rapidly evolving academic landscape, institutional leaders are grappling with increasing challenges in attracting and retaining top-tier talent. This webinar episode, titled 'Cultivating Research Powerhouses: A Strategic Approach to Talent Recruitment,' is designed to equip academic leaders with essential insights and strategies to effectively navigate these complexities. This was the first episode of our 3-part webinar series, each session addressing critical aspects of academic leadership and development. You can see the further episodes below. Drawing from the comprehensive "View from the Top: Academic Leaders’ and Funders’ Insights on the Challenges Ahead" report, developed in collaboration with Ipsos, this webinar will offer an in-depth analysis of the pressing issues and strategic responses from over 100 global senior leaders. Key findings from the report reveal that while 93% of leaders prioritize research excellence, only 56% feel adequately prepared to meet this challenge. Additionally, 75% of leaders identify talent recruitment and retention as significant challenges, with 66% predicting increased difficulty in managing human capital in the future.
