As we look ahead there is an increasing need to enhance proficiency in digital technology with clinicians confirming that doctors (73%) and nurses (71%) should be digital experts. This shift underscores the pivotal role that technology is playing in shaping the future of healthcare.
By combining expertise with evidence, analytics, and technology, healthcare organizations can support clinicians to improve patient outcomes by adopting a data-driven approach. What must be considered is that as technology advances in healthcare, it needs to be supplemented with evidence-based content. There is a curiosity among clinicians to leverage AI tools for informed decision-making and enhanced learning. As identified in the Clinician of the Future Report 2023, in the next 2-3 years 48% of respondents say physicians using generative AI tools to help make clinical decisions will be desirable and over half (51%) of clinicians welcome the prospect of medical students using generative AI-powered tools as part of their medical education.
