Sundarapandian Vaidyanathan is a professor and dean at the Research and Development Centre at Vel Tech University, Avadi, Chennai, in India. His research areas of interest are linear and nonlinear control systems, chaos theory, scientific computing, soft computing, operations research, scientific modelling, and computational science.

Professor Vaidyanathan has published over 550 research publications in reputed journals, three textbooks on Science and Engineering, and 12 research monographs published by Elsevier, Springer and IGI-Global (USA), and has placed among the top 2% Scientists in the Various Fields Research Study published by Stanford University in Artificial Intelligence and Image Processing.

Professor Vaidyanathan is an Editorial Board member of many journals published by Inderscience, UK such as the International Journal of Modelling, Identification and Control, International Journal of Automation and Control, International Journal of Simulation and Process Modelling, International Journal of Intelligent Engineering Informatics, and International Journal of Nonlinear Dynamics and Control, and has delivered several keynote addresses on nonlinear control systems, chaos theory, and scientific computing in IEEE International Conferences. He has also conducted several workshops on Control Systems, Data Science and Scientific Computing using MATLAB and SCILAB, and has active research collaborations with scientists from many countries.
