Anna Wang
University of New South Wales, Australia
Anna is a Scientia Associate Professor in Chemistry at UNSW Sydney (The University of New South Wales). She and her team are interested in using a soft matter perspective to understand how life started on Earth. More specifically, they work on how the processes of self-assembly can be harnessed to help aid the transition between chemistry and biology. Their systems of interest include lipid vesicles, bilayer membranes, protocells, and liquid-liquid phase-separated droplets. Anna is also Assistant Director for the Australian Centre of Astrobiology. She completed her PhD in Applied Physics at Harvard University with Prof. Vinothan Manoharan and a NASA Postdoctoral Program Fellowship in Astrobiology with Prof. Jack Szostak.
