Dr. Jian Liu is currently a Chair Professor and Dean at School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Inner Mongolia University, China. Dr Liu received his PhD degree in physical chemistry from the DICP, CAS, in 2009, and worked at the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nano[1]technology (AIBN), University of Queensland (UQ) as a research fellow. After working at Curtin University as a senior lecturer, Reader at University of Surrey, he then joined DICP as a full professor and group leader of micro–nanoreactor and reaction engineering. His research focuses on the design of micro– nanoreactors, porous carbon spheres, and industrialization of homogeneous catalysis in heterogeneous systems. He has published more than 300 peer reviewed journal articles including top ranking journals such as Nature Mater., Nature Rev. Chem., Nature Commun. (5), Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. (19), Adv. Mater. (6), JACS (2), ACS Nano (5), Nano Lett. (3), Mater. Today (2), Chem. Soc. Rev. (3), Energy Environ. Sci. (2), Adv. Funct. Mater. (13), Natl. Sci. Rev. (2), et al., and delivered over 90 presentations/seminars in scientific meetings and congresses. A recent search (August 2024) of ISI Web of Science shows his entire publications have been cited for over 26000 times. His h-index is 79 (Web of Science). He was listed as 2018-2023 Highly Cited Researchers from ClarivateTM in Cross-Field. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Materials Today Sustainability (Elsevier). As recognition of his achievements in research, he was honoured with a prestigious Cheung Kong Scholars Programme 2022, UQ Foundation Research Excellence Award, JSPS Invitation Fellowships, and a Young Scientists Award of the 14th International Congress on Catalysis.
