Robert Tilton

Robert Tilton is the Chevron Professor and Director of Undergraduate Education in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. The recipient of the 1993 Victor K. La Mer Award of the American Chemical Society Division of Colloid and Surface Chemistry and the 2024 American Chemical Society Award in Colloid Chemistry, his research addresses fundamental principles of adsorption, self-assembly, transport and surface forces, especially in multicomponent complex fluids. He is a Fellow of the American Chemical Society and an editor of Colloids and Surfaces A: Physicochemical and Engineering Aspects.
