Belgian Nuclear Research Centre, SCK CEN, Belgium

Milan J. Konstantinovic obtained hi Ph.D. degree in solid state physics from the University of Belgrade, Yugoslavia. In the last 15 years, his research has focused on investigation of defect properties in nuclear materials, including reactor pressure vessel steels, stainless steels, and power cable (polymer) insulation. The main objective is identification of relevant physical mechanism leading to material degradation due to exposure to nuclear power plant operational conditions, starting from nano structural / microstructural changes. His knowledge/expertise include mechanical testing (tesile test, stress corrosions tests, etc.) and microstructural investigations (positron annihilation spectroscopy, relaxation techniques, thermogravimetry, Raman and IF spectroscopy, magnetic properties, X-ray diffraction, neutron scattering).
