6th RNA Metabolism in Neurological Disease Conference

March 29-31, 2026 | Paradise Point, San Diego, USA

6th RNA Metabolism in Neurological Disease Conference

Present at the 6th RNA Metabolism in Neurological Disease Conference

Join basic, clinical and industry scientists to discuss the roles of perturbed RNA metabolism in neurological diseases.

Submit abstracts by October 31, 2025 to participate

Complex networks of RNA-protein interactions regulate gene expression at multiple steps, from transcription, splicing, RNA transport, to RNA localization, translation and degradation. RNA metabolism is especially important in postmitotic neurons, a specialized cell type with unique functions and long-extending dendritic and axonal processes. In recent years, dysregulated RNA metabolism has emerged as a key pathological pathway in certain neurological diseases, suggesting that aspects of RNA metabolism that are unique to the nervous system may also create unique vulnerabilities.

This two-day conference will bring together basic, clinical and industry scientists around the world to discuss the roles of perturbed RNA metabolism in neurological diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), fragile X syndrome, frontotemporal dementia (FTD), spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), and several other repeat expansion disorders.

Topics will include:

  • Dysregulated RNA metabolism in neurological diseases

  • Physiological functions of disease-linked RNA-binding proteins

  • Biomolecular condensates and their role in normal RNA processing and in disease

  • Human genetics and genomics insights into neurological diseases

  • Structural insights into pathological RNA-binding proteins

  • Novel biomarkers due to dysregulated RNA metabolism

  • RNA-based therapeutics
