The call for proposals is now open for the Digital Commons International Conference! This is your chance to be part of an enriching and collaborative event. Elsevier welcomes proposals from the Digital Commons community that share insights, expertise, and innovative ideas.
Theme: Innovate, Showcase, and expand your reach: Strategies to elevate your institutional content
Submission deadline: July 26th, 2024
We invite proposals on, but not limited to, the following topics:
Strategies for showcasing institutional content in your repository
The future of repository trends and technologies
Preserving institutional knowledge in the digital age
Promoting institutional content best practices and case studies
Engaging your institutional communities across the globe
Data management and analytics for institutional repositories
Accessibility in institutional content and ensuring inclusivity
Digital Humanities in institutional content
Collaborative content creation: tools and techniques
Content curation: strategies for organizing and presenting institutional collections
Communities: research information exchange at a regional or national level
Partnership and innovation (Industry and Academia)
The format of sessions at the conference includes:
Presentation (20 – 30 mins, including Q&A)
Lightning Talks (7 mins, plus group Q&A)
Submit your proposal
Your proposal should include the title of your presentation or lightning talk and a detailed summary (abstract) of the session you wish to present at the conference. The information should provide sufficient information to help delegates choose which sessions to attend. You can make modifications to your submission; however, please be advised that final submissions are due by July 26, 2024.
If your proposal is approved, you will receive an e-mail from the Conference Content Review Committee during the last week of July.
Terms and conditions
The proposal must be submitted in English.
The text of the proposals along with the names and affiliations, PowerPoint presentations and/or other supporting documents will be published on the conference website, and this will not raise any copyright issues.
The Conference Content Review Committee reserves the right to ask presenters to modify presentation type to create a more cohesive conference program.
As this is an in-person event, presenters/panelists are expected to travel to and be present in Berkeley, CA
Presenters will be recorded. A recording of the presentation and a copy of the slides will be published online and made available to the Digital Commons global user community and in some instances publicly.
The main presenter is responsible for submitting the proposal. They are the main contact with responsibility to communicate with other co-authors and ensure they are all registered to be included in the program.
