Between December 2023 and February 2024, independent market research firm Ipsos conducted interviews with more than 3,000 people globally working in academia and healthcare. The findings for researchers begin here:

  • 37% of researchers have used AI for work purposes

  • 94% of researchers believe AI will help accelerate knowledge discovery

  • 86% of researchers believe AI will increase work quality overall

Transformative potential: Perspectives from researchers

Awareness of certain AI tools is high, and researchers have started using them, with expectations that usage will grow. 74% of those surveyed believe that this technology will have a transformative or significant impact on their area of work, but also raise concerns.
